Stefan Jós is Devon Hansen, a musician and video artist born and raised in Southern California. He began producing electronic music at the age of ten. Most recently he has released material as lotide and under his own name, as well as produced several music videos for friends both in America and abroad. Despite the number of projects he has at hand, all of Hansen’s work has in common a focus on texture and a knack for percussion, as well as the influence of world music, Japanese avant garde, and strange mid-century film soundtracks.
カリフォルニア出身の音楽家、ビデオ・アーティストDevon Hansenによるプロジェクト。20世紀中期の実験映画のサウンドトラックやアーリー・エレクトロニクス、60年代の日本のアヴァンギャルド・シーンからの影響を独自に解釈し、ポストSeefeel的なサウンドスケープと現在進行形のビートを重ね合わせたLotide、Wanda Groupのリコンストラクションなどフィールドレコーディングと即興による打音、テープ・エフェクトによる電子変調によって実験音楽の極北に位置するD.Hansenなど、複数の名義を使い分ける。ビデオ・アーティストとしてもClay Wilsonなど、Style Upon Styleのミュージック・ビデオなど多数の映像作品を手がけている。
ミニマリズムに重点を置いたというニュープロジェクトStefan Josは、サウンドのテクスチャーや振動、抑制といった自身の音楽的な主題によりフォーカスしている。2015年、raumよりEP『Things You Left Behind』を発表予定。
