台湾を代表する５人組の室内楽アンサンブルCicadaが昨年リリースした『Ocean』に続くコンセプトアルバム。／『Farewell』は人と人との関係性、そのサイクルをテーマとし、別離、不確かな未来との対峙、私たちの中にある十代の少女の心を明らかにします。長らく廃盤となっている大ヒット作「Pieces」他「Let’s Go」「The Sea/Under the Water」の3作から選りすぐりの12曲に加え、名曲と誉れ高いシングル「Lake’s End」、「Meteoric Night」を収録。過去楽曲も新たなメンバーとと共にリアレンジ・再録音を施し、新たな作品へと生まれ変わった珠玉のメロディーの数々。日々の生活の中にある小さなきらめきと儚さ、親密さや幸せの中に隠された夢の記憶、光と影の美しいコントラストを豊潤なアンサンブルと多彩なアレンジで情感豊かに描き出します。
Farewell is selected early works of Taiwanese female fronted chamber ensemble Cicada who played with Olafur Arnalds, Rachel Grimes, Balmorhea.
Farewell described how someone who went through the cycle of a relationship. It’s about breakup, facing the future alone and also reveals the teenage girls inside us. Cicada selected 14 songs from Over the Sea /Under the Water, Pieces and Let’s Go with the new recording and production, together they told a story.
