K W A I D A N は、USの若手プロデューサーteamsと日本在住の写真家/ビートメイカーRepeat Pattern、北海道出身の女性アーティストNoahのコラボレーションによるコンセプト・アルバム。「牡丹灯籠」「夢応の鯉魚」など古来から伝わる怪談を幽霊の物語としてではなく、サウンドトラックを持った普遍の物語/神話として、身体のない人間と精神の対話をロマンチックに描いています。美しくレイヤーされ、曲によって様々な表情を見せるNoahのヴォーカル、冷たさの中にも艶と深みを感じるteamsのプロダクションとRepeat Patternによるきめ細やかなサウンドデザイン。ミックス・マスタリングをMOTORO FAAMのRyuta Mizkamiが担当し、此岸と彼岸を移ろう美しい幻のようなサウンドが完成しました。
KWAIDAN is collection of reverb soaked harmonies leaning on a couch of field recordings and heavy drums all accompanying the vocals of flau’s Noah. Songs referencing Japanese folk tales about ghosts and spirits presented, not in the usual tone of a ghost story but rather, in a romanticized air of normalcy and matter-of-factness.
