2012年全国11都市で開催されたHenning Schmiedt Japan Tourにて、ツアー中にミックスされ、限定販売されたEP『Schnee(=雪の意)』。その世界観を広げた同名のアルバムが完成しました。
東北地方を初めて訪れた際に見た雪の存在感に感動し、9歳まで過ごしたドイツ・エルツ山脈の、雪に閉ざされた冬を思い出したというヘニング・シュミート。 どこまでも続く白い世界、雪の日の淡い音の響きを繊細なピアノのタッチと透明感溢れるメロディーで表現し、『Klavierraum』以来となる多彩なエレクトロニクスと音響処理を大胆に取り入れながら、幼い頃に雪を目の前にした時の高揚感と特別な空気感を伝えてくれます。
忘れかけていた雪の匂い、乱反射する光のきらめき。様々な思い出や感情の揺れを幼い頃の自分と現在を交差させながら丁寧に描きだしたピアノ作品です。
Listen to the German pianist Henning. The Klavierraum (piano room) by Henning Schmiedt was quite a surprise. This is a solo album he dedicated to his pregnant wife in 2007. Fifteen songs are all composed and played by Schmidt. It integrates contemporary jazz and chamber music with crystal-clear timbres and detailed environmental sounds to create an elegant freehand brushwork. , clean and flowing sound space. In an implicit and low-key atmosphere, Schmidt has ingeniously created different auditory “bright spots” with his superb and comprehensive piano skills. His rich layers and profound artistic conception make it difficult for people to keep up with his musical sounds. Reverberate and precipitate. Schmiedt is apparently similar to post-classic musicians, but after listening to it, they have very different musical pursuits. – Pintomusica
